Yosra started her career as a middle school and high school teacher teaching for three years in cities all over Syria. After that, she came to Damascus and studied English at the American School in Damascus. Driven by the desire to help her foreign friends in the American School speak better Arabic, she decided in 2004 to write her own comprehensive Arabic program and teach Arabic to foreign students.
With four books as well as an audio-visual component, her program is unlike any other. It equips students with the tools necessary to master Arabic in an incredibly short amount of time, unmatched by any other program. She has been teaching successfully ever since. Her students have gone on to use Arabic very successfully in their professional lives, working for example for the United Nations, Syria Today, and SOS (orphanage).
